Which tickets can I purchase from the self-service ticket machine?

  • All standard train tickets, monthly passes, train taxi tickets, tickets with a different departure station or a stop-off.
  • Train tickets to Belgium, the western part of Germany and Luxembourg. For more information about international train tickets, see NS Hispeed .

Useful information

  • The ticket machine first returns your card before asking you to key in your PIN-code.
  • You touch the screen lightly. It is not necessary to press hard.
  • Do not lean on the screen as that impedes the operation.

NS Service Desk, Kiosk or Wizzl

Did you know that?

  • Purchasing a ticket from an NS self-service ticket machine is cheaper than purchasing one from the NS Service Desk or other outlet.
  • A surcharge of € 0.50 is added to all tickets sold at NS Service Desks, Wizzl convenience stores and Kiosk shops.
  • At major station, NS Service Representatives are available on the station concourse and the platform to assist you with your travel needs.

About NS Service Desks

  • Operate at major stations.
  • Offer complete range of tickets and passes except for the Jaartrajectabonnement (Annual Route Pass) and the NS/OV-Jaarabonnement (NS/Public Transport Annual Pass). However, you can obtain an application package for these passes.
  • Provide information about domestic and international train travel.
  • Provide information about the station and the station facilities.
  • Provide information about NS passes.
  • Information concerning lost or found property should be reported at the NS Service Desk.
  • Provide answers to all your questions about NS’s services.
  • Sell tickets without seat reservation for the Benelux countries and western Germany. For personal sales of train tickets you pay a supplement of € 3.50.
  • Payment for tickets is accepted in cash and by debit card.

Wizzl/Kiosk with NS Tickets and Service

  • At the medium-sized stations.
  • Voordeelurenabonnementen [off-peak hours passes] and the most common train tickets.
  • At Wizzl you can buy train tickets and numerous other useful products seven days a week.
  • At all Wizzl shops you can pay cash or using your debit card or Chipknip.

NS Service Points

Did you know?

  • You can purchase train tickets from over 100 post offices, sub-post offices and TNT Post Service Points.
  • For information about opening times, you can phone the Postal Office service number at 0900-767 8526 (€ 0.30 per minute; within the Netherlands only).

About NS Service Points

  • An NS Service Point can be a post office, bookshop, tourist information office, pharmacy community centre, etc.
  • NS Service Points sell tickets and other NS products and can provide journey information.
  • NS Service Points are located near stations that do not have staffed ticket windows.
