Lost or stolen OV-chipkaart with a season ticket

If your OV-chipkaart with a season ticket is lost or stolen then it is important that you take action. Block your OV-chipkaart and apply for a new one. You can travel using a Temporary Ticket while you wait.


In all cases: block the card and request a replacement

Have your card blocked as quickly as possible if it is lost or stolen. Call Customer Service OV-chipkaart on 0900 - 0980 (€ 0,50 per call). Customer Service OV-chipkaart is available on weekdays from 7.00 to 21.30 and on weekends from 10.00 to 16.00. You can also request a new card while calling. Your OV-chipkaart will be protected from misuse from the next day onward.

Lost or stolen per season ticket

Lost or stolen NS-Business Card

Block your NS-Business Card quickly if it is lost, stolen or damaged. You can request a refund for journeys you make while waiting for your new card.

Altijd Vrij, Traject Vrij, Grensabonnement, Dal Vrij, Kids Vrij, Weekend Vrij, Dal voordeel or Altijd Voordeel

You receive a replacement OV-chipkaart within 3 working days. These 3 days start when Customer Service OV-chipkaart receives your request for a replacement card.

Voordeelurenabonnement or Student travel product

You receive a replacement OV-chipkaart within 3 working days. These 3 days start when Customer Service OV-chipkaart receives your request for a replacement card.

OV-Jaarabonnement

You can call NS Customer Service. NS Customer Service requires no more than 3 working days to make a replacement OV-chipkaart. These 3 days start when they receive your request for a replacement card. You can request a refund for all journeys made after loss or theft from NS . The expiry date of your season ticket remains the same.

Intercity direct Altijd Toeslagvrij

Do you also have an Intercity direct Altijd Toeslagvrij season ticket? Then you can request a refund from NS for the full amount that you have spent on Intercity direct supplements since the first day of waiting for your new card.

Temporary ticket

While you are waiting for a new personal OV-chipkaart, you can download a variant of your season ticket to a personal card.
