Refunds for delayed journeys with Intercity direct and ICE inside the Netherlands
The Intercity direct is the fast train between Amsterdam Centraal and Breda. You must pay a supplement for this train if the route between Schiphol and Rotterdam Centraal is part of your journey. You are entitled to reimbursement of the Intercity direct supplement and your NS ticket if your journey is delayed by more than 15 minutes.

Unfortunately, the Intercity direct sometimes breaks down. You can then wait for the next Intercity direct or travel on a different train. If you have already purchased an Intercity direct supplement at the Supplement machine, then you may return to the machine to cancel it within 30 minutes.
Refunds for 15 to 29 minute delays
You are eligible for a refund of half the price of your Intercity direct supplement based on a one-way ticket or a fixed amount specified for your (supplement) season ticket.
Refunds for delays of 30 minutes or more
You are reimbursed the full Intercity direct supplement based on a one-way ticket or a fixed amount specified for your (supplement) season ticket.

In exceptional cases the Intercity direct is supplement free. If you have used a separate Intercity direct supplement then you can receive a voucher for an Intercity direct supplement from the Train managers of the Intercity direct. As an Intercity direct season ticket holder you can place a request for a refund of your Intercity direct supplement by sending the form Refunds for delayed journeys on Intercity direct journeys to NS Customer Service.

Are you using an NS-Business Card for a supplement free Intercity Direct? Then you can submit a request for a refund for the Intercity direct supplement to NS Customer Service.
An ICE supplement can be reclaimed if you are delayed for 30 minutes or more during your train journey.
