When does NS arrange for rail replacement service?

NS immediately arranges rail replacement service when a train is stranded between stations and the next station is not within walking distance of the stranded train.

How long does it take to arrange rail replacement service?

This can vary from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the cause of the incident and the location where the train is stranded.

I have an appointment to be somewhere. Can NS arrange a taxi for me?

Unfortunately, no. We cannot arrange a taxi for each individual passenger. You will have to wait for the bus that will bring you to the nearest train station. From there, you can continue your journey in the manner that best suits your needs.

What happens if I cannot reach my destination?

That is unfortunate, and we will do everything in our power to ensure that you get home. The first point of contact are the NS personnel in the train and at the station.
