Bicycle storage at Assen station
On 15 February a temporary, free bicycle storage area will open at Assen station. The current, supervised bicycle storage area at Assen station will be closing on 14 February in order to make space for a new station and new bicycle storage facilities.
Temporary bicycle storage facilities near the station
For a 2 year period a temporary bicycle storage area is being opened next to the current station. On Monday 15 February, this free storage area is opening at Stationsplein 5c at Assen station. The bicycle storage area at Stationsplein 1 will then close. The temporary bicycle storage area has 1,800 spaces and will be open every day from a quarter of an hour before the first train departs until a quarter of an hour after the last train has arrived at the station. You can store your bicycle here for free and at your own risk. It is also possible to rent an OV-fiets or to have your bicycle repaired here.
What does this mean for you if you...?
have a monthly season ticket for the supervised storage area
You can continue to use the monthly season ticket for January at the current, supervised bicycle storage area at Assen station until 14 February. From 15 February you can store your bicycle at the temporary storage area next to the station.
have an annual season ticket for the supervised storage area
The annual season ticket for the current, supervised bicycle storage area at Assen station will terminate automatically on 1 February 2016. You can store your bicycle for free at this storage area until 1 February 2016. From 15 February you can store your bicycle at the temporary bicycle storage area.
You can request reimbursement of overpayment for your annual season ticket by downloading the refund form below and sending the filled out form, along with the required information, to:

The amount to be reimbursed is calculated as follows: the remaining duration of your current annual season ticket in months divided by 12 x the annual fee (€ 105). Any possible reimbursements will be received within 6 weeks of the submission of the form to NS Customer Service.
