The Hague and Utrecht

On King's Day a great deal of revellers travel somewhere by train. That creates some lively crowds. We take a number of measures at stations and on our trains in order to keep things on the right track.

The Hague

King's Night (Tuesday26 April) in The Hague means that it is time for The Life I Live Festival. This unique free pop festival will take place for the sixth time in a row in The Hague's city centre. Visit any of the nine different outdoor stages to enjoy acts from both famous international artists and local talent.

Listen to live music at the Plein, Grote Markt, Grote Kerk, Buitenhof, Lange Voorhout, Plaats, Noordeinde, Wijnhaven and the Denneweg from 19:00.

You can find an overview of the entire programme on the The Life I Live website.

Good to know

You can visit catering establishments throughout the entire city. There will also be plenty of food and drink stalls between the stages. Checks will be carried out for alcohol that has been brought from home, so you'd be better off leaving cans of beer and bottles of spirits at home.

Getting there by train

The festival area is 5 minutes walk from  Den Haag Centraal station. From Den Haag Holland Spoor station you will have to walk for approximately 10 minutes.

King's Night

In Utrecht the party starts at 18:00 on Tuesday 26 April, because that's when King's Night breaks loose! It is probably a bigger event than King's Day itself, with an abundance of performances on outdoor stages, special parties in bars and clubs and of course the large and popular market. There is no escaping the Orange party spirit on King's Night in the Domstad!

The market will be held in the following streets, among others: Plompetorengracht, Breedstraat, Van Asch van Wijckskade, Weerdsingel, Weerdsluis, Lange Lauwerstraat, Waterstraat, Jacobskerkhof. It starts on Tuesday evening 26 April at 18:00 and ends on 27 April at 18:00.

Getting there by train

Travel directly to Utrecht Centraal station. From the station you can walk straight into the city and the festivities.
