Engineering work on the track between Sittard and Maastricht
ProRail is renovating the tracks between Sittard and Maastricht. In order to make these renovations possible and to be able to carry out the work safely, engineering work will be taking place on the route from Sittard to Maastricht from Saturday 24 October to Wednesday 28 October.
How will this engineering work affect your journey?
Saturday 24 October
No train traffic is possible between Sittard - Maastricht and Maastricht - Maastricht Randwyck. NS Buses will be running on these routes instead of trains. Veolia buses will be running on the routes between Maastricht- Maastricht Randwyck and Maastricht-Valkenburg instead of trains.
Sunday 25 to Wednesday 28 October
No train traffic is possible between Sittard and Maastricht. NS Buses will be running on this route instead of trains. Only Veolia trains will be running between Maastricht and Maastricht Randwyck. Expect additional travel time of 15 to 30 minutes.
To use an NS bus, you will require a valid NS ticket. You can use an OV-chipkaart to travel with an NS bus just like when travelling by train. You check in at the start of your journey, even if your journey starts with a bus. You then check out with your OV-chipkaart at your destination station.
