Engineering work on the track between Zwolle and Wierden

From Monday 5th October to Sunday 30th October 2016, ProRail will be working on the construction of the overhead lines between Zwolle and Wierden. This will allow electric trains to run on this route in the future instead of diesel trains, thereby cutting journey times between Zwolle and Enschede. In addition, these electric trains are quieter and better for the environment. As a result of this engineering work, there will be limited or no train traffic between Zwolle and Wierden.

The engineering work will take place primarily in the evening and during the night in order to minimise the number of travellers who will need to rely on bus transport. Unfortunately, several operations must be carried out over an extended period of time. These will be carried out during the school holidays.
