Den Haag / Rotterdam Centraal - Dordrecht - Breda

From Saturday 3 December until Sunday 18 December engineering work is being carried out on the route running through Den Haag Centraal / Rotterdam Centraal - Dordrecht - Breda. You can see how this will affect your journey in the NS Travel Planner.


Sunday 3 December and Sunday 4 December

The following changes have been made to the timetable:

  • 4 Intercity's per hour will run between Den Haag HS and Dordrecht rather than the usual 6.
  • There will be no Intercity direct running between Rotterdam Centraal and Breda. You will have to make an additional transfer in Dordrecht.

Detour advice:

  • When traveling between Den Haag Centraal and Eindhoven you should travel via Utrecht Centraal and ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

Expect additional travel time ranging from 15 to 30 minutes.

Monday 5 December to Friday 9 December

The following changes have been made to the timetable:

  • 2 Sprinters per hour will run between Den Haag Centraal and Dordrecht rather than the usual 4.
  • 4 Intercity's per hour will run between Den Haag HS and Dordrecht rather than the usual 6.
  • There will be no Intercity direct running between Rotterdam Centraal and Breda. You will have to make an additional transfer in Dordrecht.
  • Intercity‘s between Amsterdam Centraal and Vlissingen will make an additional stop in Zwijndrecht. Other Intercity‘s may leave a few minutes earlier than usual.

Detour advice:

  • When traveling between Den Haag Centraal and Eindhoven you should travel via Utrecht Centraal and ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

Expect additional travel time ranging from 15 to 30 minutes.

Saturday 10 December

The following changes have been made to the timetable:

  • There will be no trains running between Rotterdam Centraal and Rotterdam Lombardijen.
  • 4 Intercity's per hour will run between Den Haag HS and Rotterdam Centraal rather than the usual 6.
  • There will be no Intercity Direct running between Rotterdam Centraal and Breda. You will have to make multiple transfers.
  • The Intercity Brussel will not be running between Amsterdam Centraal and Roosendaal.

NS buses replacing trains:

  • NS Express Buses will be running between Schiedam Centrum and Zwijndrecht and between Rotterdam Alexander and Zwijndrecht.
  • When traveling between Rotterdam Centraal and Rotterdam Lombardijen you can use the RET bus, tram and metro.

Detour advice:

  • When traveling between Rotterdam Centraal and Dordrecht you should travel via Schiedam Centrum and Zwijndrecht (with an NS Express Bus)
  • When traveling between Den Haag Centraal and Eindhoven you should travel via Utrecht Centraal and ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
  • When traveling between Utrecht Centraal and Roosendaal you should travel via ‘s-Hertogenbosch and Breda.

Expect additional travel time ranging from 30 to 60 minutes.

Sunday 11 December

The following changes have been made to the timetable:

  • There will be no trains running between Rotterdam Centraal and Rotterdam Lombardijen.
  • There will be no Intercity direct running between Den Haag Centraal / Rotterdam Centraal and Breda. You will have to make multiple additional transfers.
  • 2 Intercity's per hour will run between Breda and Dordrecht rather than the usual 1. These will also run to and from Zwijndrecht and Rotterdam Lombardijen.
  • Intercity Brussel will not be running between Amsterdam Centraal and Roosendaal.

NS buses replacing trains:

  • NS Express Buses will be running between Schiedam Centrum and Zwijndrecht and between Rotterdam Alexander and Zwijndrecht.
  • When traveling between Rotterdam Centraal and Rotterdam Lombardijen you can use the RET bus, tram and metro.

Monday 12 December to Friday 16 December

The following changes have been made to the timetable:

  • There will be no Intercity direct running between Den Haag Centraal / Rotterdam Centraal and Breda. You will have to make a transfer in Dordrecht.
  • Between Rotterdam Centraal and Dordrecht various trains will be departing at different times than usual.

Detour advice:

  • When traveling between Den Haag Centraal and Eindhoven you should travel via Utrecht Centraal and ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

Expect additional travel time of 15 minutes.

Saturday 17 December and Sunday 18 December

The following changes have been made to the timetable:

  • No trains will be running between Rotterdam Centraal and Rotterdam Lombardijen.
  • No Intercity Direct will be running between Den Haag Centraal/Rotterdam Centraal and Breda. You will have to make multiple additional transfers.
  • 2 Intercity's per hour will run between Breda and Dordrecht rather than the usual one. These will also be running to and from Zwijndrecht and Rotterdam Lombardijen.
  • The Intercity Brussel will not be running between Amsterdam Centraal and Roosendaal.

NS buses replacing trains:

  • NS Express Buses will be running between Schiedam Centrum and Zwijndrecht and between Rotterdam Alexander and Zwijndrecht.
