Den Haag Centraal / Rotterdam Centraal - Dordrecht - Breda

Engineering work is being carried out on the route Den Haag Centraal / Rotterdam Centraal - Dordrecht - Breda from Saturday 7 January to Sunday 22 January 2017. You can see how this will affect your journey in the NS Travel Planner.


Saturday 7 January and Sunday 8 January

The following changes have been made to the timetable:

  • No Intercity or Intercity Direct trains will run between Den Haag Centraal / Rotterdam Centraal and Breda. Travellers will have to make an additional transfer.
  • Between Rotterdam Centraal and Dordrecht - Breda, various trains will be departing at different times than usual.
  • The Intercity to and from Brussels will not run between Amsterdam Centraal and Roosendaal. 

Please note: from 7 to 10 January, no trains will stop at station Rotterdam Blaak.

Expect an additional travel time of up to 15 minutes. 

Monday 9 January to Friday 13 January

The following changes have been made to the timetable:

  • No Intercity or Intercity direct trains will run between Den Haag Centraal / Rotterdam Centraal and Breda. Travellers will have to make an additional transfer. 
  • Between Rotterdam Centraal and Dordrecht - Breda, various trains will be departing at different times than usual.
  • Two Sprinters will run between Rotterdam Centraal and Dordrecht, instead of the usual four per hour.
  • The Intercity to and from Brussels will not run between Amsterdam Centraal and Roosendaal.  

Please note: from 7 to 10 January, no trains will stop at station Rotterdam Blaak.

Expect an additional travel time of up to 15 minutes.

Saturday 14 January and Sunday 15 January

The following changes have been made to the timetable:

  • There will be no trains running between Rotterdam Centraal and Rotterdam Lombardijen.
  • There will be no Intercity's running between Den Haag Centraal / Rotterdam Centraal and Breda. You will have to make multiple transfers.
  • Two Intercity's will run between Breda and Dordrecht every hour rather than the usual one per hour. These will also continue on to station Zwijndrecht.
  • The Intercity to and from Brussels will not run between Amsterdam Centraal and Roosendaal.

NS buses replacing trains:

  • NS Express Buses will be running between Schiedam Centrum and Zwijndrecht and between Rotterdam Alexander and Zwijndrecht. 
  • To travel between Rotterdam Centraal and Rotterdam Lombardijen you can use the RET bus, tram and metro. 

Alternate routes:

  • When traveling between Rotterdam Centraal and Dordrecht, travellers are advised to take the NS Express Bus via Schiedam Centrum and Zwijndrecht.
  • When traveling between Den Haag Centraal and Eindhoven, passengers are advised to travel via Utrecht Centraal and ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
  • When traveling between Utrecht Centraal and Roosendaal, passengers are advised to travel via 's-Hertogenbosch and Breda.  

Expect an additional travel time ranging from 30 to 60 minutes.

Monday, 16 January to Friday, 20 January

The following changes have been made to the timetable:

  • No Intercity or Intercity direct trains will run between Den Haag Centraal / Rotterdam Centraal and Breda. You will have to make an additional transfer.
  • Between Rotterdam Centraal and Dordrecht - Breda, Intercity‘s will depart at different times than usual. 
  • Two Sprinters will run between Rotterdam Centraal and Dordrecht every hour instead of the usual four per hour.
  • The Intercity to and from Brussels will not run between Amsterdam Centraal and Roosendaal.

Expect additional travel time of up to 15 minutes.

Saturday 21 January and Sunday 22 January

The following changes have been made to the timetable:

  • There will be no trains running between Rotterdam Centraal and Rotterdam Lombardijen.
  • There will be no Intercity's running between Den Haag Centraal / Rotterdam Centraal and Breda. You will have to make multiple transfers.
  • Two Intercity's will run between Breda and Dordrecht every hour rather than the usual one per hour. These will also continue on to station Zwijndrecht.
  • The Intercity to and from Brussels will not run between Amsterdam Centraal and Roosendaal.
