I am a contact person, or manage multiple NS-Business Cards

An NS-Business Card is issued for a period of 5 years. What does that mean for you as a contact person or card manager? In Mijn NS Zakelijk, you can see which cards in your company will expire soon. In many cases, we can replace the card automatically, so you don't need to do anything.


Correct address

In order to ensure that we can inform your employees and deliver the new NS-Business Card to the right address, it is vital that your employees' addresses are entered correctly in Mijn NS Zakelijk, especially if we are contractually required to deliver the new cards to your employees' home addresses.

Passport photo

Your employees with a Trein Vrij or Traject Vrij subscription have an NS-Business Card that features their portrait. If they have granted permission for us to save their picture, then we will issue a new card with the same portrait. If not, then we ask that your employees send us a new passport photo. You can check which employees are affected in Mijn NS Zakelijk.

Please note: we cannot renew the card without a valid passport photo, so the holder will not be able to travel using his/her NS-Business Card.

Three NS-Business Card variants that can expire

Personal NS-Business Card without passport photo

  • Check your employee's e-mail address and post address in Mijn NS Zakelijk. If the information provided there is correct, then you do not have to do anything else (unless the card is to be delivered to the business address).
  • 4 weeks before the expiration date of the NS-Business Card, your employee will receive a notification sent to the e-mail address provided.
  • Approx. 3.5 weeks before the current card expires, your employee will receive the new NS-Business Card at the home address provided or at your department, depending on the terms of the contract that your company has with NS.
  • The old card will remain valid until the expiration date.

Personal NS-Business Card with a passport photo

  • Check your employee's e-mail address and post address in Mijn NS Zakelijk. If the information provided there is correct, then you do not have to do anything else (unless the card is to be delivered to the business address).
  • If the employee has not granted permission for us to save the passport photo or if it is no longer valid, we will ask that your employee please send us a new passport photo 8 weeks before the expiration date of the NS-Business Card. if your employee does not reply in time, then you will receive an e-mail 3 weeks before the card's expiration date. Please note: we cannot renew the card without a valid passport photo, so your employee will not be able to travel with his/her old NS-Business Card!
  • If we have a valid passport photo, then your employee will receive a notification at the e-mail address provided 4 weeks before the expiration date. 
  • Approx. 3.5 weeks before the current card expires, your employee will receive the new NS-Business Card at the home address provided or at your department, depending on the terms of the contract that your company has with NS.
  • The old card will remain valid until the expiration date.<

Department or company card

  • Your company has one or more department or company cards that are scheduled to expire in the near future. Please check which card numbers must be replaced at Mijn NS Zakelijk.
  • 4 weeks before the expiration date, you will receive notification that we will renew one or more of your department or company cards.
  • Approx. 3.5 weeks before the current card expires, you will receive your new NS-Business Card at your company/department address, depending on the terms of the contract that your company has with NS. This can be found at Mijn NS Zakelijk. The old card will remain valid until the expiration date.<
