Ordering & changing

Find out how you as a customer can order NS-Business Cards (or additional cards) via Mijn NS Zakelijk. You can also find out how you or your employees can change a subscription, what to do in the case of a damaged or lost NS-Business Card, and much more.


Making changes to an NS-Business Card subscription

You can make changes to one or more subscriptions if you are the company NS contact person, or sometimes if you are a cardholder yourself. That's handy if for any reason you have to reduce your travel or stop travelling completely. Find out how below.

  • Changing a subscription

    How and when

    Switching to a more expensive subscription is always possible. You can terminate a subscription or change to a cheaper subscription after one month from the start date of the subscription. You can do this as your organisation's contact person, a self-employed entrepreneur, or as a cardholder, provided that you are authorised to do so by your organisation. This is easy to arrange online via Mijn NS Zakelijk.

    As a contact person:

    • Log in as contact person using your user name + password.
    • Go to 'Manage cards and cardholders', find the card and click on the card number.
    • Under 'Arrange now', you will see the option 'Change subscription'. Select the new subscription and follow the steps shown on the page. 
    • Select 'Agree' to the product and general terms and conditions. The cardholder (or yourself, if you have requested the change for your own NS-Business Card) will receive a confirmation via e-mail. This mail will also contain further instructions for completing the change. Please note that the change must be downloaded from an NS Ticket Machine or OV-chipkaart machine in a timely manner (see the instructions in the e-mail). 

    As a cardholder: 

    • Log in as a cardholder with your e-mail address + password.
    • Go to 'Mijn NS-Business Card'.
    • Under 'Arrange now', you will see the option 'Change subscription'. Select your new subscription and follow the steps shown on the page. 
    • Select 'Agree' to the product and general terms and conditions. You will receive a confirmation via e-mail. This mail will also contain further instructions for completing the change.     Switching routes for a Traject Vrij subscription is always possible

    After switching routes in Mijn NS Zakelijk, it's important to make sure that you actually activate the change for your NS-Business Card. You can do so at an NS ticket machine. After changing your route in Mijn NS Zakelijk, you will receive an e-mail from us. Hold your NS-Business Card against the card reader and follow the instructions on the screen. It's important that you do this by no later than the date in the e-mail, otherwise the change will expire and you will need to request it once again in your Mijn NS Zakelijk account.

    Refund after switching routes

    When you change routes, you will receive a refund for the subscription fees (Dal, Traject Vrij, Trein Vrij and OV Vrij) for the remaining months of the subscription year. If there is a change to another subscription, a change in route or a structural change of class, the costs for that subscription will be invoiced once again for a whole year.

    Changing a department card

    Unfortunately, changes (such as changes to travel class) cannot be requested for department cards. You must order a new card to replace the old department card.

  • Terminating a subscription

    As an NS contact person (also for self-employed entrepreneurs)

    If you would like to terminate a subscription for yourself or an employee (while continuing to use the NS-Business Card), for example if you will be travelling less or not travelling temporarily, you can do so via Mijn NS Zakelijk.

    • Log in as contact person using your user name + password.
    • Go to 'Manage cards and cardholders', find the card and click on the card number.
    • Under 'Arrange now', you will see the option 'Change subscription'. Select 'No subscription' and follow the instructions displayed in the page.
    • Select 'Agree' to the product and general terms and conditions. The cardholder (or yourself, if you have requested the change for your own NS-Business Card) will receive a confirmation via e-mail.     • Log in as a cardholder with your e-mail address + password.
    • Go to 'Mijn NS-Business Card'.
    • Under 'Arrange now', you will see the option 'Change subscription'. Select 'No subscription' and follow the instructions displayed in the page.
    • Select 'Agree' to the product and general terms and conditions. You will receive a confirmation via e-mail. This mail will also contain further instructions for completing the change. Please note that the change must be downloaded from an NS Ticket Machine or OV-chipkaart machine in a timely manner (see the instructions in the e-mail). 

    If you wish to change your subscription to an NS-Business Card without a subscription ('No subscription'} in order to avoid paying subscription fees until you wish to start travelling with a subscription available again. When you would like to order another subscription for your NS-Business Card, simply follow the same steps shown above, but select one of the subscriptions available.

Lost or stolen NS-Business Card

What to do when your NS-Business Card is lost, stolen or damaged.

  • Lost or stolen NS-Business Card

    Lost or stolen NS-Business Card? Block the card as soon as possible via Mijn NS Zakelijk. You can also immediately request a new NS-Business Card. You will receive it within 7 days at the address indicated.

    Avoid paying too much. If you do not block your card, any journeys made on it after its loss will be charged to your monthly invoice.

    I am the cardholder

    1. Log in to Mijn NS Zakelijk with your business e-mail address
    2. Go to ‘My NS-Business Card‘
    3. Block your card using the ‘NS-Business Card stolen, lost or damaged? Request a duplicate‘ button, under 'Arrange now'.
    4. You will receive your NS-Business Card within 7 days at the address specified.

    I am the contact person

    1. Log in to Mijn NS Zakelijk with your username
    2. Go to ‘Manage cards and cardholders’ and search for the relevant cardholder
    3. Click on the card number of the card you wish to block and replace
    4. Block the card using the ‘NS-Business Card stolen, lost or damaged? Request a duplicate‘ button, under 'Arrange now'.
    5. You will receive the NS-Business Card within 7 days at the address specified.
  • Refunds for loss or theft

    You'll receive your new NS-Business Card within seven days. If you incur any travel expenses in the meantime that fall within your subscription, you can request a refund for these costs. This applies only if you've ordered a new NS-Business Card (duplicate) with a Traject Vrij, Trein Vrij or OV Vrij subscription. In the event that your NS-Business Card with a Traject Vrij, Trein Vrij or OV Vrij subscription is lost or stolen, you can request a refund for the travel expenses incurred that fall within the subscription. You can do this for a maximum of 14 days while waiting for a replacement NS-Business Card.

Ordering NS-Business Cards

As a customer it's easy for you to order one or more NS-Business Cards  via Mijn NS Zakelijk. But what are the options? And how does it work with subscriptions and door-to-door services? Find out more here.

  • Ordering an NS-Business Card

    If you already have a contract with NS Zakelijk, you can order NS-Business Cards in your Mijn NS Zakelijk account.

    As a contact person, you can order cards at any time. As a cardholder, however, you can only do so if it is explicitly stipulated in the contract between your organisation and NS Zakelijk that cardholders may order their own cards.

    If you do not yet have a contract with NS Zakelijk, you can order cards in two ways:

    Online ordering (max 5 cards)

    To order up to 5 NS-Business Cards online, you will need a Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number. During the ordering process, we ask you to make a payment of € 0.01 via iDEAL. This is to confirm the number of the bank account that will be used for the automatic payment of your invoice.

    Ordering via NS Zakelijk customer service (more than 5 cards)

    If you would like to order more than 5 NS-Business Cards, you must first request a contract. dan vraagt u eerst een overeenkomst aan. Please contact us, obligation-free, to discuss the options and go over the steps.

    if you have already decided to become an NS Zakelijk customer, then you can apply for a contract immediately. As soon as there is a signed contract in place, you will receive the login details for Mijn NS Zakelijk. In Mijn NS Zakelijk, you can order the cards as a customer. If you need them, extensive instructions are available under "Vragen over Mijn NS Zakelijk" ("Questions about Mijn NS Zakelijk").

  • Ordering economical subscriptions on the NS-Business Card

    When you order an NS-Business card online or via Mijn NS Zakelijk, you can also indicate whether you would like to add a subscription. This can be handy if you travel frequently or use the same route.

    If you already have an NS-Business Card, then you can add a subscription at any time via Mijn NS Zakelijk. 

    If you have received an NS-Business Card from your organisation, then it's possible that you are not authorised to add a subscription to your card yourself. In that case, contact the NS contact person in your organisation, who will be able to add a subscription at any time.

  • Ordering multiple NS-Business Cards at the same time

    Large organisations may find it useful to be able to order NS-Business Cards for a number of employees at the same time. It is possible to do this in Mijn NS Zakelijk. There are extensive instructions available in Mijn NS Zakelijk.

  • Ordering an NS-Business Card for the department (departmental card)

    You can only order a departmental card as a contact person (contract holder). To do this, go to Mijn NS Zakelijk and log in as contact person. Via the 'Order NS-Business Card' menu option, you can choose between ordering a personal or departmental card.

    During the ordering process, you indicate which department the NS-Business Card is for. If the desired department is not included in the overview of departments for which you can order a card, please contact NS Zakelijk Customer Service on 030-3001111.

    If you are not yet an NS Zakelijk customer, you will need to obtain a contract before being able to order cards.

  • Unsuccessful attempt to order an NS-Business Card

    Does your organisation have a contract with NS Zakelijk, and are you trying to order an NS-Business Card for yourself?

    If so, ask for help from the NS contact person in your organisation. This person can log into the Mijn NS Zakelijk contact person account and order an NS-Business Card for you.

    Are you the NS contact person in your organisation, but you're unable to order cards in your contact person account?

    If you are a new client, it's possible that your contract with NS is not complete or still has to be signed. Please contact your NS account manager or telephone NS Zakelijk Customer Service on 030-3001111.

  • Do I have to order door-to-door services separately with the NS-Business Card?

    No, that is not necessary. The door-to-door services are activated by default on the NS-Business Card. You can make use of them immediately.

    Organisations can choose to individually activate or deactivate the door-to-door services. This must be done by a contact person in MIjn NS Zakelijk, or while ordering all cards at the same time.

Cancelling an NS-Business Card

What should you do if your NS-Business Card is cancelled, or if you would like to cancel it?

  • Terminating an NS-Business Card

    Cancelling an NS-Business Card is simple to do via Mijn NS Zakelijk. First of all, you need to request the termination of the NS-Business Card via Mijn NS Zakelijk, and then go to an NS ticket machine or other OV-chipkaart collection point. You can find out how this works in the message confirming your termination request. Once you have collected the termination at the ticket machine, the NS-Business Card will be terminated on the specified end date.

  • What to do with a terminated NS-Business Card

    If the NS-business card or the subscription on it has been terminated, then you can destroy the NS-Business Card. You can also return the card to the following postal address: NS Zakelijk, P.O. Box 2572, 3500 GN Utrecht. We will then ensure that the card gets recycled. 

    Have you received an NS-Business Card from your employer? The NS-Business Card is part of the contract that we have with your employer. If you no longer work for this employer, then you must terminate/return the NS-Business Card. You may also no longer use it for private travel. 

    Instead, you can use a personal OV-chipkaart for your private journeys.

  • My NS-Business card has been terminated by my employer

    The NS-Business Card is part of the contract we have with your employer. If you no longer work for this employer, you are required to  terminate/return the NS-Business Card. This means you can also no longer use it for private travel.
