Renting a bicycle from a bicycle carousel or a self-service storage facility
The OV-fiets carousel and the self-service storage are automated rental locations where no personnel are present. If you have an OV-chipkaart with an OV-fiets season ticket, you can rent a bicycle from these locations.
Renting an OV-fiets from a bicycle carousel
At the front of the carousel, you can find the instructions to the left and the control panel to the right. Place your card on the control panel and follow the instructions on the display. The carousel will rotate to bring an OV-fiets to the front, after which the door will open automatically and you can remove the bicycle from the carousel. When you are done, the door will close automatically. If you wish to rent a second bicycle, simply place your card on the card reader again and repeat the steps above.
Returning an OV-fiets
When you want to return a bicycle to the carousel, hold your card in front of the control panel to the right of the carousel door, then follow the instructions on the display. The door will open automatically and you can place the bicycle back into the slot. Make sure that you push the bicycle all the way to the front. When you are done, the door will close automatically. If you wish to return multiple bicycles, hold your card in front of the card reader again and repeat the steps above.
Cannot turn in the key
If you cannot turn in the key to your OV-fiets using the key machine, please leave it in the blue key box and call NS Customer Service at: 030-7515155, so that your key can be collected and scanned.
Renting a bicycle at a self-service storage
If you have an OV-chipkaart, you can rent a bicycle from 15 minutes before the first train in the morning until 15 minutes after the last train at night.
Please note: if you would like to return your OV-fiets to a different location than where you rented it, then you will be charged a € 10 fee.
