On Friday 3, Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 September, the first train to Zandvoort aan Zee will depart from Amsterdam Centraal at around 6:00am. From 7:15am onwards, we will be running up to 12 trains per hour for as long as necessary between Amsterdam Centraal and Zandvoort aan Zee. These trains will stop at all intermediate stations except for Overveen.
Crowding on the train
Even though we will be deploying extra trains between Amsterdam Centraal and Zandvoort on Friday 3, Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 September, it's a good idea to bear in mind that there will be significant crowding on the trains as we are expecting many visitors to be travelling on those days.

Overveen Station will be closed on 3, 4 and 5 September in connection with the crowds expected to be travelling to and from Zandvoort aan Zee. Because the railway crossing to the middle platform must be put out of service for safety reasons, it will not be physically possible to board or leave a train at this station. You can make use of a bus for travel between Overveen and Haarlem. More information about this will be made available in due course.
The Intercity Direct runs from Amsterdam Centraal to Rotterdam Centraal and vice versa. Travellers between Schiphol Airport-Rotterdam Centraal and vice versa will travel at a surcharge.
If you are travelling on an international train, your arrival and departure stations will remain unchanged. Some trains may depart from a different platform. Make sure you arrive on time to catch your train. Plan your journey in advance using the NS Travel Planner or the NS app.
