How NS PriceTime Deal works
Why do we offer NS PriceTime Deal? To stimulate the choice for a quiet train and to make the train even more affordable. That way, we can all contribute to sustainable accessibility in the Netherlands. How it works:
- Open the Travel Planner in the NS app or at ns.nl, plan your journey in advance and check which day you can save the most money.
- Depending on the intended route and departure time, you will be able to see whether NS PriceTime Deal is available and how much discount you will receive. You can recognise these journeys by the green label in the Travel Planner.
- Buy your train ticket and travel using an e-ticket.
Please note: NS PriceTime Deal is not available for the OV-chipkaart, as a season ticket or a Day Return.

Along which routes can I travel with NS PriceTime Deal?
NS PriceTime Deal is currently available for purchase for journeys between almost every NS station. The discount train tickets are available for sale on any route where trains are not too crowded. For example, NS PriceTime Deal is not available for travel to and from Schiphol Airport.

How far in advance must I purchase my ticket in order to take advantage of NS PriceTime Deal?
To benefit from NS PriceTime Deal, you must purchase your ticket at least one day before your departure date. The earlier you book your train ticket, the bigger the discount. When is my NS PriceTime Deal ticket valid?
Your NS PriceTime Deal train ticket is only valid on the selected date, selected route and during off-peak hours: weekdays before 06:30, between 09:00 and 16:00, and after 18:30. Weekends all day from 18:30 on Friday evening until 06:30 on Monday morning. You may only travel during off-peak hours, so you must leave the train before peak hours begin.
Please note: once you have purchased the ticket, you can no longer change the personal details or journey details. Therefore, make sure you enter the correct details.

For which products can NS PriceTime Deal be used?
You can only purchase NS PriceTime Deal as a Single Ticket on an e-ticket, and it cannot be combined with other promotions and discounts. NS PriceTime Deal is not available for the OV-chipkaart, as a season ticket or a Day Return.
Children up to the age of 11 years can travel at a discount with a Railrunner, and for young people up to 18 years of age, there is the affordable Youth Day Ticket (available in the NS app).

Where can I buy a train ticket with NS PriceTime Deal?
NS PriceTime Deal is available for sale in the Travel Planner on ns.nl and in the NS app. You must book your ticket at least one day before departure to take advantage of NS PriceTime Deal. If, after planning your journey, you choose to purchase a separate ticket in the Travel Planner, you will see the available tickets. If NS PriceTime Deal is available for your chosen travel option, you will be able to recognise this due to the green NS PriceTime Deal label.

Can I alter my e-ticket?
No, after completing your purchase it is unfortunately no longer possible to alter your e-ticket. So do be careful to enter the correct personal and journey details. E-tickets are issued personally, and only valid in combination with a valid proof of identity.
