OKT Amsterdam: "NS Go and the NS-Business Card are a gift"

Since February 1, 2024, Ouder- en Kindteams Amsterdam has been using NS Go, and employees travel with the NS-Business Card. Senior HR advisor Wilma van der Meer shares her experience.

About Ouder- en Kindteams Amsterdam

Ouder- en Kindteams Amsterdam is there for all children, young people, and parents in Amsterdam. The organization offers accessible youth care and youth health care. The team includes parent and child advisors, youth doctors, healthcare psychologists, generalist orthopedagogues, youth nurses, and network coordinators.

Previously: a lot of work on individual reimbursements

Before February 2024, our employees received a fixed travel allowance per month. But if they parked or made a business bike trip, they had to claim it themselves. Submitting and processing all those claims took a lot of time and effort for everyone. Managers had to approve everything carefully.

We wanted to make travel and administration easier. And a mobility policy that fits our vision: sustainability and vitality for our employees.

A new mobility policy

We chose NS Zakelijk as our partner. With the mobility platform NS Go, the NS-Business Card, and subscriptions, we have everything in one package.

Our employees can now choose an NS-Business Card with an OV-Vrij subscription. This allows them to travel freely by train, bus, tram, and metro from Monday to Sunday. We also reimburse commuting and business trips made with the OV bike or a personal bike. Those who travel by car are only reimbursed for commuting and business kilometers. This fits with our vision.

Freedom and convenience for all employees

NS Go and the NS-Business Card are a gift. Our employees no longer have to worry about loading credit or submitting expense claims. Travel with the NS-Business Card is automatically registered in NS Go. Employees can also easily add trips made with their own bike or car, as well as working from home days. Managers no longer need to approve these manually.

Reimbursements are directly settled with the salary through integrations with our HR system. This saves our administration department a lot of time.

Moreover, useful reports give us insight into travel kilometers and CO2 emissions. This way, we immediately comply with the CO2 reporting obligation. Ideal!
