Summary RIVM research
Train travellers are more physically active, walk more often and further and are less overweight than car passengers. In the Netherlands many commuters cycle or walk to and from the station. This makes the choice for the train healthier than the car. Moreover, train travellers are more satisfied with their health than motorists.
