Why has the NS-Business Card been updated?

The current NS-Business Card is a public transport chip card. It's being retired after almost 20 years. A new card is coming, ready for the future: the OV-pas (Public Transport Pass). Thanks to new technology, you'll have real-time insight into your travels and expenses. The card is also ready to be used as a digital pass in the future.

The benefits of the new NS-Business Card

• Everything is stored in the cloud – you no longer need to go to a ticket machine to pick up a product when ordering, changing, or canceling a subscription.
• Real-time insight into travel and expenses.
• No more passport photos on the pass, but in the cloud – so you no longer need a new pass when upgrading to a subscription that requires a passport photo.
• Ready to use as a mobile pass in the future.

Apply for a new NS-Business Card

Only a select few trial participants can already travel with the new NS Business Card. It's not yet available for order from us. You will receive information about this from us or your employer sometime in 2026.

Frequently asked questions about the new NS-Business Card

Can I use a group travel discount?

No, you cannot yet use a Travel Together Discount with the new NS Business Card (OV-pas).

Checking in with my new NS Business Card (OV-pas) is not possible.

Can I use mobility services with the new NS-Business Card (OV-pas)?

No, this isn't currently possible. To use mobility services like public transport bicycles, P+R, or bicycle parking, you still need your old NS-Business Card.
