P+R parking

Park your car at one of the 270 supported P+R sites to avoid heavy traffic and pricey city-centre parking. Discover how it works and how to get a discount on your parking session.

How P+R parking works

P+R parking is particularly ideal for travellers planning to continue their journey by train because P+Rs are located close to stations.

You can park at a P+R even if you are not travelling by train.

Parking at a paid P+R

If you're planning to park your car at a paid P+R, we recommend looking up the site first to check availability.

There is automatic number-plate recognition at all paid sites. How P+R parking works:

Entry
Drive up to the barrier. A camera will scan your number plate and the barrier will open.

Exit

  1. Drive up to the barrier. We'll scan your license plate and your parking fee will appear on the display.
  2. To get a discount, scan your OV-chipkaart or e-ticket before you pay.
  3. Pay the parking fee. You can pay using your debit card, credit card, mobility card, NS Business Card or OV-chipkaart with an NS Flex season ticket.
  4. The barrier will open, and you can drive away.
Explanation of P+R parking

P+R parking discount

Travellers making a train journey on the same day can park their car at our paid P+Rs at a reduced rate. You get a discount on your parking session and will only have to pay € 9 for a full day.

This discount only applies to travellers who use their OV-chipkaart, NS Business Card or e-ticket for a domestic train trip on the same day. In other words, you have to check in and out at a station in the Netherlands on the same day as you leave the P+R.

Regrettably, passengers travelling with their debit card are not eligible for this discount.

P+R parking fees

Parking is free at most P+Rs. There are about 50 paid P+Rs across the country. The charges at these sites differ.

If you often park your car at the same P+R,

apply for a parking plan with Q-park. This plan offers considerable savings and other benefits for frequent parkers.

  • Guaranteed parking: always get a space.
  • Save time: license plate recognition means you can exit without any hassle.
  • Save money: parking three  times a week or more at the same site works out cheaper.
