Travel on weekdays until 6:30 am, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and after 6:30 pm. Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: valid all day.

Frequently asked questions
How far in advance must I purchase my ticket in order to receive the early booking discount?
To receive the early booking discount, you must purchase your ticket no later than four days before the day on which you plan to travel. This means three days plus the remainder of the day on which you purchase your ticket. For example, if you want to travel on Friday, you must buy your Off-Peak Early Booking ticket on the previous Monday.
Where can I purchase an Off-Peak Early Booking ticket?
You can purchase an Off-Peak Early Booking ticket as an e-ticket from the NS website and via the Travel Planner in the NS app and on the website. Off-Peak Early Booking tickets are not available for purchase from NS ticket machines at the stations.
When can I travel with Off-Peak Early Booking?
Off-Peak Early Booking Return and Off-Peak Early Booking One-Way tickets are only valid during off-peak hours: on weekdays until 6.30 am, between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm and after 6.30 pm, and all day on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. Off-Peak Early Booking is not valid on King's Day (27 April).
You may only travel in the train during off-peak hours, and must leave the train once rush hour starts.
To which products and surcharges does an early booking discount apply?
With Off-Peak Early Booking, you can receive an early bird discount on a Day Return or One-Way ticket. The discount only applies to the part of your journey that you make by train. Off-Peak Early Booking cannot be used in combination with other discount tickets, promotional tickets, day tickets and surcharges.
Do I also get early booking discount in combination with a season ticket or discount card?
No, with Off-Peak Early Booking you can only get a discount on a Day Return or One-Way e-ticket. The early booking discount does not apply in combination with a season ticket or discount card and cannot be used in combination with an OV-chipkaart.
For which train operators is Off-Peak Early Booking valid?
Off-Peak Early Booking is valid in all domestic trains operated by NS, Arriva, Blauwnet, Breng, Connexxion (Valleilijn), Keolis Nederland and R-net, as well as in QBuzz.
Off-Peak Early Booking is not valid in Thalys, Eurostar and NightJet.
For travel on Intercity direct and ICE International trains, you must pay a surcharge in advance.
Can I change my e-ticket?
No, after completing your order it is no longer possible to change you e-ticket. Therefore, take good care to fill in the correct personal details and journey information. E-tickets are personal and only valid in combination with valid proof of identity.
