How it works

How to find and reserve a Greenwheels car:

  1. Search for a car on our map.
  2. Sign up to Greenwheels and link your OV-chipkaart.
  3. Wait ten minutes after registering, then reserve a car through the Greenwheels app.
  4. Open the Greenwheels car by holding your OV-chipkaart against the card reader behind the windscreen, or open it using the Greenwheels app.

Please note: soon you will only be able to open the car with the Greenwheels app, not with your OV-chipkaart.

Returning the car

Always return the car to the same parking spot and lock it. Each car has a designated parking space and you will not be charged parking fees for it.

You cannot return a Greenwheels car to a different spot or a different city.

Greenwheels car costs

The cost of a Greenwheels car depends on how long and how far you drive, and which rate you choose.

Subscriptions cost between € 0 and € 25 per month. You also pay per kilometre driven and per hour. Fuel or charging costs are included in the price. A fuel or charging card is kept in the car and is free to use.

Payment

You pay for your trip from your own bank account. It is not possible to pay with your OV-chipkaart or NS subscription.
