The Netherlands has 353 kilometres of North Sea coastline; the remainder is the coast along the Wadden Sea and the Westerschelde. That means there is plenty of room to enjoy the sun and the sea.

Zandvoort aan Zee
There are regular direct trains from Amsterdam Centraal to Zandvoort so you can be on the beach shortly after you step off the train.
The direct service to Zandvoort is often busy in summer for that reason. See the alternatives below.
Katwijk aan Zee
Frequent buses run from Leiden Centraal to Katwijk aan Zee. The bus takes around a quarter of an hour to the beach.
You can switch to an OV-fiets at Leiden Centraal. There are two OV-fiets rental locations at or near the station and it is about 20 minutes cycling to the beach from the station.
Egmond aan Zee
From Alkmaar station a bus reaches Egmond aan Zee in about a quarter of an hour. There is an OV-fiets rental location at Alkmaar station and it is roughly half an hour cycling to the beach from there.
Wijk aan Zee
A bus from Beverwijk station takes about a quarter of an hour to Wijk aan Zee. There is an OV-fiets rental location at Beverwijk station. Rent an OV-fiets and cycle to the beach in around 20 minutes.
Domburg
You can take a bus to Domburg from Middelburg station and be on the beach within half an hour. Middelburg station has an OV-fiets rental location and it is about three quarters of an hour cycling to the beach from the station.
Scheveningen
Scheveningen does not have its own station. To reach Scheveningen by public transport, take the train to Den Haag Centraal and change there for a bus or tram to Scheveningen.
You can also take an OV-fiets from Den Haag Centraal; there are two OV-fiets rental locations at or near the station and it is about 20 minutes cycling to the beach.
Bloemendaal
To get to Bloemendaal beach, take the train to Haarlem and change there for a bus to Bloemendaal. Haarlem station also offers an OV-fiets option and it is about 20 minutes cycling from the station to the beach.
