Before you request a refund of your balance
Do you use automatic top-up for your balance? Stop automatic top-up first before you request a refund of the money still on your OV-chipkaart or OV-pas.
For your OV-chipkaart stop automatic top-up at ov-chipkaart.nl. For your OV-pas (card with a notch) do this via your Mijn OVpay-account on ovpay.nl
Request a refund of your OV-chipkaart balance
Would you like to request the money remaining on your personal or anonymous OV-chipkaart? Complete the form on ov-chipkaart.nl and the balance will be refunded to your bank account. It does not matter if your OV-chipkaart has expired.
If your OV-chipkaart has not yet expired and your balance is less than € 30, you can also request the amount at an OV Service & Tickets shop.
Reclaim OV-pas balance (card with notch)
Request a refund of the balance on your OV-pas at OVpay.nl. Sign in to the website with your OVpay account and follow the steps to request your refund.
The refund will be on your bank account within five working days.
