Notifications in the NS app
Do you want to know exactly where to change trains? Or receive an immediate alert if there are delays or cancellations? Notifications in the NS app keep you automatically updated during your journey.
Download the NS app:
Turn on notifications for your journey
Plan your journey in the NS app. Select your journey and tap ‘Notifications’ at the top.
Choose which push notifications you want to receive:
- Changes to your journey, like cancellations, delays or departure from a different platform
- Departure, transfer and arrival
- Limited seating expected
Save your preferences. You will automatically receive a push notification whenever there is an update.
An alternative travel plan straight away
If your train is not running, this train has a delay or there is a chance you will have less chance of a seat, you will receive an alternative travel plan straight away in your notification. This also applies to your changes.
That way, you can switch quickly and reach your destination as smoothly as possible.
The NS app offers more than you think
The NS app not only lets you plan your journey and receive notifications. You can also:
- Save your favourite journeys
- Load your e-ticket in the app
- Find an OV-fiets, shared scooter or Park and Ride (P+R) location on the map
