Collective Remembrance
The Individual Compensation Committee for Victims of NS World War II Transports advised NS to explore whether and how to provide collective recognition for the large group of transported individuals without surviving family members, for whom individual compensation is not possible.
Collective Expression of Recognition
NS supports Westerbork Camp, Vught Camp, Amersfoort Camp and the Oranjehotel with a total financial contribution of €5 million.
With this support, NS acknowledges the suffering and fate of the many transported prisoners who do not receive individual compensation.
This includes, among others, Jews, Sinti and Roma who did not survive the war and left no surviving family members. It also covers resistance fighters, political prisoners and forced labourers.
Education for Young People
NS asked the remembrance centres to allocate part of the funding to education for young people. The focus is on discrimination, including antisemitism, which unfortunately still occurs today.
