Introducing the North-East Region
NS Regional Directorate North-East serves the five provinces in the north and east of the Netherlands. Together, we work to improve sustainable accessibility in your region. We are pleased to introduce ourselves to you.
Regional Director North-East
Whether you want to travel quickly and easily from your village to work, or comfortably take the train to the city where you study, sustainable door-to-door travel is becoming increasingly important. Good and reliable access to work, home and facilities through pleasant and safe stations is essential for everyone. As regional director, my team and I dedicate ourselves every day to making this possible. We connect, innovate and inspire. For you, now and in the future.
Spokesperson & Public Relations
We bridge the connection between NS and the outside world. We share what NS is doing and listen to what travellers, the media and other stakeholders consider important. This includes communication about timetables or activities at stations. We are visible at major events and respond to media enquiries, both proactively and when approached.

Public Affairs Management
As Public Affairs Manager, we are the first point of contact for municipalities, provinces, regional interest groups and other transport providers. Together with these regional partners, we work to ensure good accessibility throughout the Netherlands. This way, we make sure travellers can enjoy comfortable door-to-door journeys. This shared outcome also influences how people will live, work and travel in the coming years.

Mobility Development
Our mobility developer is here to assist with questions about mobility and spatial planning. Together, we explore how mobility and area development can reinforce each other.
We aim to make stations true hubs, where train, bus, bicycle and pedestrian connections come together smoothly. Places where homes, facilities and workplaces are easily accessible and where sustainable choices are encouraged.
Regional decisions have a major impact, such as:
- Building new homes close to stations
- Ensuring facilities are easy to reach by public transport
- Reducing pressure on public spaces
- Improving first and last mile connections, like bicycle storage or bus routes
Are you facing mobility challenges in your region? For example, congestion on roads or railways, large construction projects or a desire to reduce car traffic? Please get in touch with our mobility developer.
