On‑street parking

Park your car in on‑street parking zones using the NS app. You pay via your NS Flex subscription or your NS-Business Card.

How does it work?

Open the NS app and log in. Make sure your OV-chipkaart (with NS Flex subscription) or your NS-Business Card is added to your account. Then find a parking zone:

  • Open the map at the bottom of your screen.
  • Select the parking zone where you are parked (the zone is shown on the parking meter) and follow the steps.
  • Add your registration number the first time you use it.

After that, start the parking session and the timer in the app will begin.

If your parking zone is not listed, you cannot use the NS app to park. Please pay at the parking meter instead.

Stopping the parking session

Go to the map in the app or tap the parking alert at the bottom of your screen. You can then stop the parking session and drive away straight away.

Parking costs

Parking costs vary by zone. The NS app shows the hourly rate for each location. You also pay € 0,25 transaction costs per parking session.

Paying for parking

We debit parking costs up to € 25 from your account monthly, together with your NS Flex subscription. If the amount exceeds € 25, we debit it straight away.

If you travel with an NS-Business Card, parking costs appear on your monthly invoice.
You can drive away straight after parking. You can find your costs and parking sessions in your Journey details in Mijn NS.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I park?

You can park in almost all municipalities in the Netherlands using the NS app. The app detects where you and your vehicle are and shows the different parking zones on the map.

All you need to do is tap the parking zone where you parked your vehicle or enter the zone number in the search bar. Then follow the steps in the app.

If your parking zone is not listed, you cannot park using the NS app. Please pay at the parking meter.

Can I reserve a parking space?

No, you cannot reserve a parking space. Park your car on an available space first and then start the parking session.

I forgot to stop parking.

That is unfortunate, but it can happen. Stop the parking in the NS app. After 24 hours we will stop your parking session automatically.

These parking costs are added to your monthly invoice. If you have NS Flex and the costs are over € 25, we deduct them directly from your account.

Would you like a (full or partial) refund of your parking costs?

Then contact the municipality where your car was parked, or the parking operator.
