The winner of the NS drawing competition has been announced!
The NS drawing competition has ended and we received so many lovely, funny and original dream trains! Choosing was difficult. Thank you to all the children who sent in their drawings. We enjoyed every colourful and imaginative design. Please keep being creative!

And the winner is…
Phileine with her cheerful, colourful monster train! Her dream train will now run across the Netherlands. Keep an eye on the railway, as you might soon be stepping aboard this one-of-a-kind dream train yourself!
Finalists
These were the three finalists of the NS drawing competition – each a creative picture full of imagination and adventure:
- Finalist aged 4–6: Lieuwe, 6 years old – an imaginative train full of animals and nature
- Finalist aged 7–9: Phileine, 7 years old – a dream train for friendly monsters and bright colours
- Finalist aged 10–11: Mieke, 11 years old – a joyful journey with delightful details

Did your child take part in the NS drawing competition? Download the official certificate to print and display at home. That way we can celebrate your wonderful entry and creativity together. We are proud of you!
Kids Vrij – free for children
The NS drawing competition is over, but your imagination can keep travelling with Kids Vrij. This NS season ticket lets children aged four to eleven travel free and without limits, even during peak hours.
When you order you can add Kids Vrij directly to your child’s existing OV-chipkaart. If your child does not yet have a card you can temporarily request a free OV-chipkaart. That way you can go on adventures together and perhaps even take a ride in the winning dream train.
