How it works
- Walk your bike to the check-in and check-out zone and hold your OV-chipkaart up to the display. The light will turn green, and you can walk straight through.
- If the light is red when you check out, you have parked for more than twenty-four hours. You can pay contactless at the same post.
- If you have an NS Flex subscription or use Stallen op Rekening, the cost is automatically deducted from your account.
Park your bike even faster with a bike tag
The bike tag checks you in and out automatically. Simply stick it on your bike’s frame and link it to your OV-chipkaart. This way, you do not need to search for your card and can walk straight through.
You can get the bike tag free of charge if you have an annual Bike Storage season ticket, an NS-Business Card, or use Stallen op Rekening.
If you do not have this, you can buy a bike tag for € 2.50 from a staff member at the bike storage in the following stations:
- Amsterdam Centraal, Amstel, Zuid and Rai stations
- Almere Centrum station
- Breda station
- Ede-Wageningen station
- Gouda station
- Tilburg station
- Zwolle station

Where are the new check-in and check-out zones located?
The first new zones are at Amsterdam Centraal, Amsterdam Amstel, Amsterdam RAI, Amsterdam Zuid, Almere Centrum, Breda, Ede-Wageningen, Gouda, Tilburg and Zwolle stations.
How can I get a bike tag?
You get the bike tag free of charge with an annual Bike Storage season ticket, NS-Business Card or Stallen op Rekening.
If you do not have this, you can buy a bike tag for € 2.50. A staff member will stick it onto your bike’s frame, so check-in and check-out happen automatically at the gates.
Can everyone get a bike tag?
Yes. It is free with an annual season ticket or Stallen op Rekening. Otherwise, you can buy the tag for € 2.50.
I do not have an OV-chipkaart. Can I still park my bike?
Yes. Request a loan card from the staff member in the bike storage. You use this to check in and out. A bike tag can only be linked to an OV-chipkaart.
How is my privacy protected?
The bike tag only records how long your bike stays in the storage. It works the same way as your OV-chipkaart.
Where can I go with questions or problems?
The service staff in the bike storage are happy to assist you. Alternatively, contact NS Customer Service.
