Lift information

Lifts at stations sometimes break down or need maintenance. Neither NS nor ProRail can fully prevent this. We understand how important a working lift is for travellers who rely on them. You can check the availability of lifts on NS.nl and in the NS app to avoid any surprises. If a lift is not working, we will find a suitable solution together.

Lift information on NS.nl

  • Check the map Near you | NS for the station you are travelling from and/or to.
  • Click on ‘Facilities’
  • Scroll down until you reach ‘lift’
  • Click on ‘lift’ to see whether each lift is available

Lift information in NS app

  • Plan your journey in the NS Journey Planner
  • Select the arrival or departure station and click the ‘view station on map’ button
  • Tap on ‘facilities’
  • Go to ‘lift’ and tap it
  • You can see the availability of each lift

Where does NS get lift information?

Lifts at stations are owned by ProRail. Each lift contains sensors that check every five minutes whether it is working. We process this data so you can always see if a lift is available. You can find this up-to-date information on NS.nl and in the NS app. This helps you to travel with greater certainty.

What should I do if the lift is not working?

If the lift is not working and you need it to complete your journey, please call NS Customer Service on 030 235 7822. We will find a suitable solution together.
