Accessibility
Making public transport more accessible is a shared goal of NS and travellers with reduced mobility. We strive to provide equal travel opportunities: independent where possible, with assistance where needed. That is why NS has made agreements on this with partners such as Ieder(in), the Oogvereniging, the Roos Prommenschenckel Foundation and ProRail.
Additional facilities
NS trains offer extra facilities for travellers with reduced mobility, such as dedicated entrances, wheelchair-accessible toilets and priority seats. In addition to travel assistance, the new Sprinters also allow independent travel with a wheelchair or mobility scooter. Currently, you can use these facilities at 131 stations.
Over the coming years, we will expand this to all stations where NS calls that have suitable platforms.
We also continuously assess what is needed at the stations themselves, such as ramps, lifts and Braille signage.
