OV-fiets is a convenient rental bicycle to use for the last leg of your journey. When your train arrives at the station, you can quickly rent an OV-fiets to cycle to your appointment. There are almost 300 rental locations in the Netherlands: at most stations, at bus or metro stops, and at P+R facilities.

How the OV-fiets works
In order to rent an OV-fiets, you require a personal OV-chipkaart. You can load a free OV-fiets season ticket onto your card. We charge € 0.01 each year to verify your personal details and payment information.
Check availability of OV-fiets bicycles
With the NS app, you can check how many OV-fiets bicycles are available at the station of your choice. Handy for planning your journey from door to door!
Renting a bicycle at a guarded bicycle storage
It is easy to rent an OV-fiets at a guarded bicycle storage facility. Simply ask the attendant, and he or she will help you through the 2 options.
Renting from an OV-fiets station
At the moment, there are 34 OV-fiets stations in the Netherlands: in Utrecht at the Janskerkhof, and in Rotterdam at the Wilhelminaplein and the Marconiplein. If you have an OV-fiets season ticket, you can pick up an OV-fiets at these stations.
Renting from an OV-fiets locker
The OV-fiets locker is an automated rental location. If you have an OV-chipkaart with an OV-fiets season ticket, you can rent an OV-fiets from the locker. If you would like to rent a second bicycle, simply repeat the process and take another bicycle from the locker.
Renting from a bicycle carousel
The OV-fiets carousel is an automated unmanned rental location. If your OV-chipkaart has an OV-fiets season ticket, then you can rent a bicycle from the facility.
Renting a bicycle from a self-service storage facility
The self-service storage facility is an automated unmanned rental location. If your OV-chipkaart has an OV-fiets season ticket, then you can rent a bicycle from the facility.
Renting from a fietsbox
The OV-fietsbox is an automated rental location. If you have an OV-chipkaart with an OV-fiets season ticket, you can rent an OV-fiets from the fietsbox.
Lost or stolen OV-fiets or key
When your OV-fiets or OV-fiets key is lost or stolen, you should notify NS as quickly as possible.
