Before reclaiming your balance
Do you use the automatic reload service? If so, please stop the automatic reload first before requesting a refund of any remaining balance on your OV-chipkaart or OV-pas.
For your OV-chipkaart, you can stop the automatic reload via ov-chipkaart.nl. For your OV-pas (card with a notch), you can do this via your Mijn OVpay account on ovpay.nl
Reclaim OV-chipkaart balance
Do you want to reclaim the money left on your personal or anonymous OV-chipkaart? Then fill in the form on ov-chipkaart.nl and get the balance refunded to your account. It does not matter if your OV-chipkaart has expired.
If your OV-chipkaart has not yet expired and your balance is less than €30, you can also claim a refund at an OV Service & Tickets shop.
Reclaim OV-pas balance (card with notch)
Request a refund of the balance on your OV-pas at OVpay.nl. Sign in to the website with your OVpay account and follow the steps to request your refund.
The refund will be on your bank account within five working days.
