NS Flex or NS-Business Card?
Are you a business traveller and want to use public transport? You might be self-employed and travel by train and other means of transport. NS Flex or the NS-Business Card lets you choose the way of travelling that suits you. You travel on account and do not need to load credit onto your card. A key difference between NS Flex and the NS-Business Card is the monthly billing. See all the differences below.
Difference in billing
With the NS-Business Card you receive all journeys on a single monthly VAT invoice. This gives a clear overview of all travel costs and the associated VAT percentages. We debit these costs from your account 30 days later. You can easily view all your journeys and invoices in Mijn NS Zakelijk, which is useful for your bookkeeping.
With NS Flex you do not receive an invoice for all journeys. You can create a separate expense report in your Mijn NS account. That report does not show the VAT percentages.
Use shared transport
With NS Flex and the NS-Business Card you can use bus, tram and metro as well as the train. Use one card for all public transport. You can also travel with other door-to-door services.
With NS Flex you can use your OV-chipkaart at favourable rates for an OV-fiets, Stallen op rekening (bicycle storage) and parking at Park and Ride (P+R) sites. Read more about shared transport with NS Flex.

In the NS app you can quickly and easily book additional services, such as a taxi with your NS-Business Card. You will also find personalised and practical information about your entire journey.
Single ticket or season ticket
You can request the NS-Business Card and most NS Flex subscriptions for free. Only Flex Basis and Flex Weekend Voordeel require a one-off € 10 administration fee.
What is the same for NS Flex and NS-Business Card?
- With NS Flex and NS Zakelijk (with the NS-Business Card) you can choose from different season tickets. In both cases you can change or cancel your season ticket every month. You always travel with the benefit that suits your journeys, and you are not tied in.
- You check in without loading credit. Walk through the gates to your train. All journeys are billed monthly afterwards via direct debit.
- You can also travel directly by bus, tram and metro from other operators. Use one card for all public transport. You travel at the full fare or, with some season tickets, at a discounted fare.
