Traveling with a functional disability

Information about how your details are used if you need help traveling due to a functional disability.

What personal information do we use?

If you have a functional disability and would like to travel by train, we will process the information necessary to facilitate your journey, including your contact details, your preferred aid, and - if relevant - information about your disability.

If you are the holder of an NS Business Card from NS Zakelijk, we will use your business contact details if possible.

What do we use your personal information for?

The principle for data processing is: the execution of the agreement or permission.

We want everyone to be able to travel. That is why we provide support to travellers with a functional disability. To provide this service, we process personal information of the traveller in question, including the preferred date and time of the journey. If we book a taxi or wheelchair taxi for you, your name and phone number will be shared with Transvision.

With whom do we share this information?

Transvision will allocate a taxi company and ride number. The taxi company will then transport you to the specified location. We take measures to guarantee that your privacy is not violated by only sharing information that Transvision needs to confirm a booking. We contract third parties to provide IT services. These parties process our information solely for our own internal use, and for no other purpose. We have made agreements with these parties pertaining to the processing of personal information.

We are authorised to share your information with law-enforcement agencies, such as the police, with an eye on tracking and preventing criminal offences.

We are authorised to provide your personal information to parties outside the European Economic Area under certain circumstances. In that event, we will take suitable measures with these parties, for example by agreeing to the standard provisions required by the European Commission.

How long do we store your information?

If you travel with NS, we will retain your personal information for up to 18 months after the date of the journey.
