Station pianos
The pianos have become a much-loved part of NS stations. Many passengers enjoy them for a timely musical interlude, while others use them as a handy meeting spot.
In September 2014, NS and its partners started putting pianos at train stations that had been under renovation for an extended period in order to liven them up.
The station pianos have since become popular fixtures that help build human connections. Many travellers take a short break from their journey to play the piano or listen to another traveller perform.
We know of people who first met at the piano and now regularly meet there to make music together.
