Service provision for transport concessions
Multiple carriers operate on the Dutch rail network. Via procurement, they acquire transport concessions for sharing the network. Sometimes, when a concession period ends, a change of carrier takes place. If another carrier takes over a route that was previously run by NS Reizigers, then NS Reizigers will provide this carrier with certain services.
Which services are provided?
This service provision may involve the use of:
- The NS ticket machines (ET2006/ET2006+)
- Station layout formula Managed Station Access (Beheerste Toegang Stations (BTS)) for shared stations
- NS card readers (CiCo) and associated infrastructure
- Service- & Alarm posts (SA)
- Route- and Pricing Web Service (WRP)
