Top 5 busiest routes

Since many of your summer holidays are now over, and a new period of work and study is starting this month, starting in September the trains will be more crowded than they have been for the past few months. You can expect the trains to be more crowded than they were during the summer holidays, especially during the morning peak hours between 07:30 and 08:30. Use the NS app to find an indication of the expected crowd in your train. The crowding indicator uses 1, 2, or 3 people icons to show you what you can expect, and to decide whether taking an earlier or later train might be a good alternative, even before you reach the station.

Where possible, we are expanding the number of seats by scheduling longer trains during the morning- and evening peak hours. Unfortunately, you may have a greater chance of standing-room-only trains on some routes over the next few months. Below you can find a list of the top 5 busiest routes.
