Error messages

When you create a Mijn NS account or try to log in to your account, you may receive an error message that prevents you from completing the process. If that happens, we're happy to help you resolve the problem.

Message that your e-mail address is already in use

There is already a Mijn NS account with this e-mail address. If this is your account, you may have simply forgotten your password. In that case, select the option 'I forgot my password'.

Expired activation code or link

If you have not received an e-mail after clicking on 'I forgot my password', then you probably created an account some time ago. If you do not activate a Mijn NS account in time using the link in the e-mail or activation code in the letter, then the e-mail address will remain stored in the system. If you would still like to create an account using this e-mail address, then an NS Customer Service assistant will have to remove the address from the system manually. You can also choose to create a new account using a different e-mail address.

You've forgotten your password

If you've forgotten your password, click on the link 'I forgot my password' in the Mijn NS login screen. You will be asked to fill in your e-mail address, and a link will be sent to your e-mail address automatically. You can then use this link to create a new password.

Other reasons why you cannot log in

  • You have entered a spelling mistake.
  • You have activated Caps Lock on your keyboard, so you have accidentally entered the password in all caps.
  • The system is undergoing maintenance, so you cannot log in at this time. This notification is also displayed on your screen. Please try again later.
