Lost or stolen OV-chipkaart without a season ticket
If your personal OV-chipkaart is lost or stolen, then you should have it blocked. Apply for a new personal or anonymous card afterward.
Lost or stolen personal OV-chipkaart
Have a lost or stolen personal OV-chipkaart blocked as soon as possible. Call Customer Service OV-chipkaart on 0900 - 0980 (€ 0,50 per call). Customer Service OV-chipkaart is available on weekdays from 7.00 to 21.30 and on weekends from 10.00 to 16.00. You can also request a new card during this phone call. Your OV-chipkaart will be protected against misuse from the following day onward.
The balance on your personal OV-chipkaart is protected within 24 hours. Once Customer Service OV-chipkaart has received your application for a new card, it will take on average 3 days to make a replacement. Any remaining balance will be transferred to your account within 15 days.
Lost or stolen anonymous OV-chipkaart
Anonymous cards cannot be blocked because Customer Service OV-chipkaart does not have your personal details. Unfortunately, it is not possible to make a replacement card for you or to refund any remaining balance. We recommend that you apply for a new anonymous or personal card as soon as possible so that you can travel again.
