How to rent an OV-ebike
Make sure you have a free OV-fiets season ticket or Flex season ticket on your personal OV-chipkaart or NS-Business Card. Also, check how many electric OV-fiets bikes are available in advance in the NS app
- Visit station Driebergen-Zeist, Arnhem Centraal, Groningen or Maastricht.
- Grab an OV-ebike and scan your card with a staff member.
- Adjust the saddle to the correct height.
- Press the on/off button on the bar for 3 seconds and you are ready to go!
Always return the OV-ebike to the same location.

How much does it cost to rent an OV-ebike?
Rent an OV-ebike for € 13 per day (24 hours). After 3 days (72 hours) you will pay € 5 per day extra. You can rent the OV-ebike for a maximum of 7 days.
Charges are automatically debited from your account every month. Easily view the charges in Mijn NS.
Check if your rent has stopped
Want to be sure that your rental has been cancelled? Link your OV-chipkaart to Mijn NS in our app. You will then see a notification in the app if you are (still) renting an OV-fiets.
- Open the NS app.
- Log in to Mijn NS (top right).
- Link your OV-chipkaart to your account.
Tip: Don't receive a notification when you ride your OV-fiets? Then check in settings whether “messages about OV-fiethuur” is on.
Still not receiving notifications? Check whether the notifications on your phone are turned on.

Can I reserve an OV-ebike online?
No, you cannot reserve an OV-ebike online. However, you can check availability in the NS app.

How do I pay for an OV-ebike?
You can rent an OV-ebike using a personal OV-chipkaart with a free OV-fietsabonnement or a Flex season ticket. Or with your NS-Business Card. The costs for using the OV-ebike will be debited from your bank account at the end of the month.

I wasn't able to turn in the key. What can I do about it?
Please lock the OV-ebike using both locks, and place the key in the blue drop box. If possible, lock the OV-ebike to a rack or pole to prevent it from being stolen. Call customer service to close the journey and end the OV-ebike rental.
