Paid P+R parking in cooperation with Q-park
Information about how your data are used when you use P + R paid parking facilities offered in partnership with Q-Park
What personal data do we use?
In order to make parking simpler and faster, we use a parking system with licence plate recognition. This means that you enter and exit the facility on the basis of your licence plate. In order to ensure that we don't record your licence plate details for no reason, this information is encrypted using a so-called hash-code. This converts it into a arbitrary series of numbers. This applies to all customers who make use of paid P+R facilities.
For customers who pay in advance or pay on account on the basis of a season ticket (for example an NS-Business Card or a Q-Park season ticket) the name, address, bank account number, e-mail address and (if provided) the telephone number associated with the card, as well as the card number, will be processed. In that case the card issuer will be in control of your personal data.
For customers who do not have a season ticket and who pay at the P+R facility's terminal, their debit card or credit card transaction details are not disclosed to NS.
Finally, the P+R facilities are equipped with cameras, which means that images from the cameras are processed.
What do we use your personal data for?
When you park at a P+R facility, we need your data in order to settle payment or to invoice you for the parking transaction.
The basis for processing is: the performance of the contract.
The licence plate, any financial details and contact details are essential for the performance of the contract. Without these data we cannot collect parking charges from you or, if you have a season ticket, contact you about an invoice or parking transaction.
The basis for processing is: legitimate interest.
If you use P+R on the basis of your NS-Business Card, NS will process your transaction data in aggregated form for invoicing and marketing purposes. These data include journey details, check-in and check-out times and location. If you would prefer that the NS did not process your data for this purpose, you can opt-out of this service via Mijn NS Zakelijk.
P+R facilities are equipped with cameras, such as overview cameras. An overview camera allows remote monitoring of safety and possibly of operational processes.
We notify you that we are using cameras by means of pictograms or notices. The pictograms that you may see are displayed here on the right-hand side:
With whom do we share this data?
We engage third parties for the provision of IT services. These third parties are our data processors and they process data only for us and for no other purpose. We have agreed terms with these parties on the processing of your personal data.
In certain circumstances we may transfer your personal data outside the European Economic Area. If we do that, we will take appropriate measures with the parties involved, for instance agreeing the European Commission's standard contractual clauses with them.
The control centre activities and camera surveillance are performed by Q-Park. SKIDATA is responsible for maintaining the Parking Management System. Your data are therefore also shared with Q-Park, and if you have a season ticket with Q-Park, Q-Park is responsible for your data. For more details of this data processing we would therefore advise you to consult the Q-Park website.
How long do we store your data?
We store financial and contact details up to 18 months after the end of the contract.
We store camera images for a maximum of 4 weeks so that we can evaluate the images in the event of an incident.
